Booking

Dare likes to play any place where people want to hear him—living rooms, stadiums, art galleries, derelict strip malls, glitzy music venues filled with trend-setting starlets, fire-gutted churches with free enchiladas. Write STS Booking, and together we will find a way:

Thursday Night Opry, January 19

I’ll be joining a gaggle of singer-songwriters at the Thursday Night Opry series this Thursday, Jan 19. My life has been largely focused on the Deep Center these days, so I’m thrilled to be getting out to spit music into the world for a night.

This will be the eve of the presidential inauguration. So a special bonus for showing up: You’ll hear a rough draft of my new song “Reality Star.” Can you guess what it’s about?

For more information and to RSVP for the event visit here.

Ah Shucks: Best of Savannah 2011

Thanks to all you music nerds who voted us Savannah’s best acoustic band of 2011 in the Connect Savannah readers poll. You guys are nice.

Connect Savannah’s Best of Savannah 2010

“Best of Savannah 2010—Acoustic Band.
‘Idiosyncratic’ best describes this California-born singer-songwriter, who divides his time between Savannah (his wife is here) and New York City (he has a job there). Dukes has an unparalleled melodic sense, a gift for heart-wrenching lyrics, and the ability to weave them together around quirky, unusual pop-folk arrangements that literally don’t sound like anybody else.”
